Het IPCC,
International Panel for Climate Change, is een vertakking van de VN. Honderden wetenschappers dragen bij aan elk IPCC-rapport. En nog veel, véél meer beoordelen de wetenschappelijke studies en literatuur in elk rapport.
In het klimaatrapport van 2021 waren er bijvoorbeeld 234 auteurs van over de hele wereld. Zij beoordeelden samen meer dan 14.000 onderzoeken. Komaan! Da's toch indrukwekkend.
Ik vroeg één van de Communication Officers bij het IPCC, Katherine Leitzell, welk materiaal je het best eerst doorneemt. En dit is wat ze me adviseerde:
"It would make sense to start with the most recent report,
the Working Group I Contribution to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report, which came out in August 2021. This report covers all we know to date about the physical science of climate change.
